Create@Centre-Stage is a collaborative project between Caroline Essame and Peter Hodgson, Director of Centre Stage Arts School. It brings you the best practices in early childhood learning, creativity and development. It offers specialised courses to bring out the best in children from birth to seven, and creative classes for children with special needs.

Individual creative profiling and Child's Play programme
Create@Centre-Stage runs creative arts therapist-led consultations in creative play, specifically targeted for children with special needs. After an initial assessment, children work creatively in a safe therapeutic space to gain skills to help them develop and change. Sessions are designed in close collaboration with the parents.

Drama as healing (Professional Development Course)
An introduction to the many uses of drama in therapy for social, emotional and physical development. Participants will be introduced to the basic theories and practice of drama as healing and be involved in a wide range of creative drama exercises including body work, storytelling, improvisation and mime.

Explore your creative self
Open to adults, this unique class uses art-making, creative drama and dance, storytelling and small-group sharing to help you discover your creative self. Reignite the playfulness associated with childhood and discover a whole new, fun and relaxing way to start the day.

Arts Club A space where through art, drama, storytelling andother creative activities, students with additional needs, aged between 10 and 12 years can have fun, develop self-esteem and form new friendships.

Child's Play for parents A special course designed for parents who want to encourage and understand creative play in their pre-school children. Participants will be introduced to the milestones of child development with particular reference to art-making, imaginative play, storytelling, music and movement, and will learn how engaging in creative play develops emotional, social and physical skills in their children. The courses provide both theoretical and experiential learning and a supportive forum to explore and share the challenges and adventures of parenthood.

Child's Play for maids and carers This course teaches maids and carers the secrets of creative play and how to build a relationship in which your child can flourish. Each week it explores a different aspect of play and participants are given ideas to bring home to their children, such as dressing up, storytelling, dancing and playing with paint.

Child's Play for preschools (Professional Development Course) These courses are specifically designed for pre-schools and they cover creative play theory and practice and introduce all aspects of creative arts, including music, drama and imaginative play, art making and storytelling.
